Manhattan
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces (about 60mls) Bourbon (we recommend Bulliet or Knob Creek) or Rye
- 1 ounce (about 30mls) sweet vermouth (we recommend Martini Rosso)
- 1 or 2 dashes of bitters (we recommend Angostura or Peychaud’s)
Garnish:
- 1 Maraschino cherry or lemon twist
Method:
- Pour the whiskey and sweet vermouth into a mixing glass
- Add 1 or 2 dashes of bitters
- Add ice
- Stir the contents thoroughly until the outside of the glass is very cold to the touch
- Strain the contents into a chilled cocktail glass (can also serve in an old fashioned glass with 1 large ice cube)
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry (or a lemon twist if you can’t find the maraschino cherry)
