Quick Overview

Created in 1930, Mouton Cadet is the result of a history between Bordeaux wines and Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The youngest of the family and the owner of Château Mouton Rothschild, he was keen to bring the richness of the prestigious Bordeaux region to a wider audience.

Details

With its succulent red and black fruit flavours and firm tannic structure, this wine reveals the distinctive characteristics of the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation.

Maturing 16 months with light oaking
Serving temperature 15-17° C

Tasting notes
Aspect: Intense ruby red with a slight garnet hue.

Nose: The nose opens on mild spice aromas then goes on with airing to reveal notes of red fruit such as redcurrant and raspberry, together with an elegant touch of truffle.

Palate: The supple and attractively sweet attack leads into a succulent mid-palate on red fruit flavours, especially redcurrant and strawberry, lifted by a refreshing hint of rosemary, while the finish is sustained by refined and supple tannins.
